A lawyer, scientist, and occasional entrepreneur, Dr.
Mattson has practiced land use, environmental, and
administrative law since 1980, and taught marine pollution law
at the University of Miami from 1983 to 1993. He also consults
on environmental matters nationally, for government entities, on
damages to natural resources from oil and hazardous substance
spills. Since 1983, Dr. Mattson has lived and practiced in the
Florida Keys. In 1997, he founded Great House of Wine, Inc., a
premium wine distributor and importer based in Florida, New
York, and California. He divided his time between his law
practice and Great House of Wine until the US premium wine
industry declined quickly on September 11, 2001, when he went
back to practicing law full-time. Dr. Mattson is both a trial
and an appellate attorney, and is listed in Who's Who in
American Law, Who's Who in Science & Engineering, Who's Who in
America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in the South and
Southwest.
